Positive consequences
A reunification would be positive for most citizens when it regards human lives, safety or development of the countries.
In addition to that, thousands of families were separated after The Korean War. Families who tried to escape would be able to find their relatives they lost during their seek of safety since many citizens got separated during this as well. A reunification would be positive for many families that is missing their beloved ones.

Negative consequences
To bring the two nations together would be an enormous cost for South Korea, an amount of approximately 500 billion dollars. (Baldwin, n.d)
North and South Korea are remarkably different and there would be several outcomes from a reunification. Since most North Koreans have witnessed a dictatorship, where human rights do not exist and where excursion is "normal", it would be very difficult for those citizens to adapt to a new and united peninsula.
